July 30th-August 2nd

Game 1, Att: 48,645

A high scoring game but not a memorable one. It swung back and forth until the middle innings where we scored 9 unanswered runs, but in traditional Rangers style we gave up late innings runs, and the way we've played of late it wouldn't have been a shock if the Mariners had taken the lead and won the game. There were 3 home runs in the game, Blalock hit his 12th of the year in the 5th with 1 on and for the Mariners Balentien hit his 19th of the year in the 2nd with 1 on and Branyan got his 9th of the year in the 8th with 1 on.

Game 2, Att: 48,629

A game that turned out to be a rather comfortable win for us, as we shut down the Mariners and picked up the runs every now and then to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Cruz hit the only home run of the game in the 5th with 1 on for his 3rd of the year.

Game 3, Att: 48,666

A game that came down to the 9th innings, in the top of the 9th the Mariners got the lead and given our record in tight games it looked like it may have been enough, but in the bottom of the 9th Young got a single and the Kinsler delievered a walk off home run, his 16th of the year. Balentien hit his 20th home run of the year in the 2nd innings, he was later ejected from the game for arguing a call.

Game 4, Att: 48,787

A solid all-round performance today enabled us to take the series 4-0. Seattle went through several pitchers in a bid to stem the flow of runs. There were 4 home runs in the game, Byrd got his 10th of the year in the 2nd with 1 on, Young hit his 9th of the year in the 3rd and B.Harrison hit his first career home run in the 6th with 1 on for the Mariners Branyan hit his 5th of the year in the 3rd with 1 on.
