After being well behing going into the 6th, Mike Patterson shocked by knocking down Cestac and then winning both the 7th and 8th to win in a big upset.

An easy win against a poor opponent for the cuban who remains #5 in the featherweight division.

Main Event (live)
WW: Kid Gavilan 14-0-1 (1) vs Jose Medina 9-10-2 (3), 8 rounds
The highly skilled cuban welterweight should have no trouble defeating the unknown tomato can Jose Medina. Should be exciting to watch Gavilan in action though. Gavilan is currently ranked #7 in the extremely strong welterweight division.
Round 1
Gavilan scores a couple of nice uppercuts to win the 1st. 10-9 Kid Gavilan
Round 2
Gavilan gets a few warnings from the referee for low blows and holding and hitting, but has no trouble winning the round with his excellent counterpunching. This looks like a clear mismatch. 20-18 Kid Gavilan
Round 3
Medina shows he is not gonna go without a fight, as he fights back in this round. Gavilans speed and skill are still too much though. 30-27 Kid Gavilan
Round 4
Gavilan is too careful and too focused on his defence and Medina wins the round by being the agressor. 39-37 Kid Gavilan.
Round 5
Gavilan gets back to action with his best round so far. 58 punches landed to 0 for Medina. 49-46 Kid Gavilan
Round 6
Gavilan is not doing what he should here. Alot of tauning and moving, but only punch volume necessary to win rounds. Boring. 59-55 Kid Gavilan
Round 7
Copy of round 6. 69-64 Kid Gavilan
Round 8
Gavilan covers up and throws the round, but still does enough to manage an even round. 79-74 Kid Gavilan
Official scorecards read: 80-74 on all cards for Kid Gavilan
There is no doubt that Kid Gavilan has the skill and mind to become one of the very best, but it is unclear why he does not feel more of an urge to entertain the crowd.
The cuban moves to 15-0-1 (1) and is still ranked #7.
