Back and forward fight that had Young landing more in most rounds. Paddy Young improves to #3.

Live

LW: Art "Golden Boy" Aragon 18-0 (8) vs Arthur Persley 8-1
8 rounds of boxing from Los Angeles, USA

Art Aragons finest win came in his 6th pro fight as he scored three knockdowns and outpointed mexican Enrique Bolanos (6-0 with 4 KOs coming into the fight, 13-3 with 10 KOs now). Aragon is one of those boxers who does everything well, he has never been knocked down, he scores a fair amount of knockdowns himself and he outlands his opponents in nearly all rounds. It has to be mentioned, though, that he does nothing great either.

Arthur Persleys sole loss came against mediocre journeyman Pierre Chevalier, and he is yet to defeat a guy with a positive record. He is not a hard-hitter, but he is fast and skilled and does well both inside and outside.

Round 1: Aragon comes out hard and lands a big combination. It seems like Aragon is looking for the big shots, while Persley is landing quick shots, clinching alot, moving in and out and focusing on his defense. Aragon lands occasionally, but not enough.
10-9 Arthur Persley

Round 2: Aragon comes out with some lead rights, but the second he gets over-confident, Persley counters with some punches that doesn't hurt, but score. Aragon is doing much better this round. 19-19 even

Round 3: Both fighters do their thing, Aragon is looking for the bigger shots, Persley focusing on his defense and landing quick shots. This round, Persley does it better. 29-28 Arthur Persley

Round 4: Aragon stuns Persley, who keeps landing flicking punches. Too close to call, this one. 39-38 Arthur Persley

Round 5: Aragon stuns Persley early and late in the round, while Persley lands his jab and his quick shots inside. Aragon is best though, as he has more intent behind his shots. 48-48 even

Round 6: Aragon lands the best shot of the fight as he connects with a big hook to the body. Aragon lands a couple of more shots, and as the storm seems to be weathering Aragon connects with another big body shot that drops Persley. Persley is unable to get up.

Art Aragon KO 6 Arthur Persley

"Golden Boy" had his trouble with the skill and speed of Persley, but finished when he got the chance and improves to 19-0 with 9 knockouts and is now #2. Persley joins the ranks at #44.
