August 21st-23rd
Game 1, Att: 36,657
After a high scoring 1st innings it looked like we were in for a football score, but the pitchers got themselves back into the game and stemmed the flow. The Ryas tied the score in the 5th and we eased ahead in the 6th and it stayed like that until the 9th when the Rays got to within 1 run but that's how close they got. Pena hit the only home run of the game in the 1st with 2 on for his 22nd of the year.
Game 2, Att: 36,881
This game was over in the 1st after Burrell hit a GRAND SLAM and that was more than enough for Tampa as we just couldn't buy a run off of Wang. Burrel hit his 26th of the year in the 5th with 1 on and to make it look as comfortable as it was they added 3 more runs in the 8th. For us there was no good news in this game and it got worse when Benoit got injured whilst pitching.
Game 3, Att: 36,750
After Burrell's home run show yesterday we managed to prevent the Rays from sending the ball out of the park today. It was a tight game and Millwood kept them in check although the Rays came alive in the last few innings and I was hoping that when I called for Aybar to be walked in the 9th to load the bases, so we could pitch to Riggins wouldn't bite us on our backsides, this time lady luck was on our side as Strop got Riggins out.
