56 Games In 1875

Today, the ABC announced that the schedule would stay at 56 games for this year. The season will begin on April 2. Here are the Opening Day matchups.

versus

The Chicago White Stockings travel to New York to start the season against the Mutuals. Walton Webster takes the mound against Jonathan Starr.

versus

Jose Benitez and the New York Mutuals begin the season at home against Rick Sawyer and the Baltimore Canaries.

versus

The Cincinnati Reds get their season going at home against the Washington Nationals. SP John McLin will face off against SP Greg Berry.

versus

The defending champs, the Philadelphia Keystones, start the season on the road in Boston. Last year's Pitcher of the Year, Chip McDonald will face Antonio Martinez.
