Baseball America's Top 10 In 1875

April 2, 1875

The Baseball America Top 100 Prospects of 1875 list was released today. There are a couple of new guys on the list and a few guys stayed on the list.

1. SP Curt Young - Washington Nationals
Young was the first overall pick in the 1874 First Year Players Draft.


2. SP Mark Pittman - Philadelphia Keystones
Pittman repeats as the #2 player on the list this year.


3. 2B Caleb Brown - Philadelphia Keystones
Brown was the #2 pick in last year's draft.


4. SP Ricky Armstrong - Brooklyn Superbas
Armstrong was the 37th overall pick back in the 1873 draft.


5. SP Randy Miller - Brooklyn Superbas
Miller drops from 1st on last year's list.


6. MR Ryan Johnson - New York Mutuals
Johnson was 2nd on the list last year.


7. SP Jesus Herrera - Baltimore Canaries
Herrera is another pitcher dropping on the list, from 5th to 7th.


8. SP Brandon House - Brooklyn Superbas
House is another late bloomer. He was the 28th overall pick in 1872.


9. MR Carlos Banuelos - Chicago White Stockings
This is the 3rd year on the list for the 1874 Rookie of the Year.


10. SP Jimmy Douglas - Brooklyn Superbas
Douglas stays on the list this year. He and his new mustache drop from 7th to 10th.
