Undercard

FLY: Mejdan Kijani 6-13-7 (1) DQ 2 Taffy Hancock 15-2 (10)
Hancock was pounding Kijani until a stupid low blow cost him the fight. Going into the fight #2, he is now ranked #24, while Kijani takes the #23 spot.

HW: Johnny Williams 16-2-1 (5) UD 8 Archie McBride 7-6 (3)
Williams scored a knockdown in the 1st, but looked unimpressive in an easy decision victory. The welshman is still #6 in a weak heavyweight division.

BW: Peeter Keenan 7-0-1 (2) UD 8 Byron Simpson 16-3 (9)
Impressive win for "the glasgow ring tiger" as he pounds australian Byron Simpson who was #7 going in to the ring and #11 going out. Keenans accuracy and speed was the main difference as he hammered Simpson to the floor twice in a wide decision.

Live

HW: Don Cockell 19-0-1 (9) vs Earl "The Hooded Terror" Walls 8-1-1 (4)
8 rounds of heavyweight boxing from London, England

The solid london heavyweight looks to keep his #2 place and as such his place in the world championship tournaments in 1950. Canadian Earl Walls is not too shabby either though as the allrounder only has one major weakness, his chin, and with Cockell being the hardest puncher he has fought (although he is no hard-hitter) that could pose a problem.

Round 1: Walls gets the first punch of the fight in, and follows it with two big shots that sees Cockell stunned. A big hook then seems to do some damage and it looks like Cockell might have a broken jaw here in the 1st! This actually seemed to ignite the brit who got in some shots, only to lose some big exchanges and the round. 10-9 Earl Walls

Round 2: Alot of clinching. Cockell gets in some flicks, Walls a big body shot in a close round. 20-19 Earl Walls

Round 3: Cockell is defending himself and landing counters. Walls gets in a big shot to the body in another close round, although Cockell did better work. 29-29 even

Round 4: Cockell lands a hard shot and immediately turns around, grimacing his face in pain! It seems he has injured his hand and can't go on.

Earl Walls TKO 4 Don Cockell

Upset here as canadian Walls gets the win against an unlucky Don Cockell and improves to 9-1-1 with 5 KOs while Don Cockell drops to 19-1-1 with 9 KOs. Walls takes the #10 spot, while Cockell drops down just below him and is now ranked #11.
