I didn't. First I looked in Urban Dictionary, where most phrases that I don't get are explained, however scarily. Then I asked my family and none of them knew. Next I asked a bunch of neighbors and friends who were over at the house for barbecue if any of them knew what it meant. Most of them are younger than I am and I wrongly had it figured for a generational thing and not a musicality thing, but I was wrong. It was a hip-hop thing, and one of them knew that.
Phrases that I don't "get" tend to bother me. I like to know what things mean.
