I zip my leagues up using 7-Zip (
Download) and then immediately copy them to a USB flash drive for off-system backup. I used to use CD's and DVD's for off-system backup, but now that I have a 64 GB flash drive it makes them seem obsolete.
Zipping saved games is the fastest way I know of to back them up.
