Opening Round Matches
(#1) CH-Henry Armstrong 43-0-1 (42) vs. (#16) Adolph Pruitt 38-24-2 (24)
Undefeated so far in his career, Henry Armstrong makes his 2nd consecutive EOY Tournament appearance and has a 4-0 tournament record after winning the Season 2 WW EOY Tournament. Armstrong is the reigning WW Champion and has made 39 successful title defenses. He has a 39-0-1 record in title bouts. Adolph Pruitt enters his 3rd consecutive EOY Tournament and has a 2-2 tournament record. This will be the 1st match between Armstrong and Pruitt as well as Pruitt's first title bout.
Round 1: Armstrong's first punch splits Pruitt's lip. Pruitt is warned by ref for low blows
Round 2: Huge round for Armstrong. An accidental headbutt reopens Pruitt's split lip
Round 3: Armstrong knocks Pruitt all over the ring. Pruitt's lip is bleeding again
Round 4: Armstrong on the attack, knocks down Pruitt. Referee counts to 10 to end the bout as the very end of the round

Thomas Damgaard enters his 3rd consecutive EOY Tournament with a 1-2 tournament record. He has only fought once for the WW Title which ended with a 3rd round TKO loss to Henry Armstrong. John H Stracey enters his 3rd consecutive EOY Tournament and has a 1-2 tournament record. He is a 2-time WW Title challenger who lost both bouts to Henry Armstrong. Damgaard and Stracey have fought twice before with Stracey winning both matches by TKO.

Round 2: Ref warns Damgaard for using shoulders on the inside. A vicious uppercut drops Damgaard for an 8-count. Damgaard staggers around for the rest of the round
Round 3: Damgaard looks to have recovered and wins the round
Round 4: Damgaard finds his range and lands, hurting Stracey. Damgaard pours it on. Ref jumps in to save Stracey from further punishment at 2:39 of the round

Cocoa Kid is a former WW Champion who made 4 successful title defenses and has a 5-1 record in championship bouts. Kid is making his 3rd consecutive appearance in the EOY Tournament and brings a 5-1 tournament record. He won the Season 1 EOY Tournament and the WW Championship against Miguel Angel Cotto. He lost the WW Title to Henry Armstrong. Ramon Campas enters his 3rd consecutive EOY Tournament with a 1-2 tournament record. He has fought once for the WW Title - a loss to Henry Armstrong. Cocoa Kid and Ramon Campas fought once before with Kid taking a unanimous 12-round decision.

Round 7: Campas doesn't land a punch. Good display of boxing by Kid
Round 8: Kid continues to outbox Campas
Round 9: Slow round. Lots of clinching. Kid lands a good combination at the end of the round
Round 10: Campas lands a few good shots. Kid goes on defensive to protect his left eye
Round 11: Campas does nothing. Ref warns Campas for leaning on the back of Kid's neck. Swelling on Kid's left eye can be seen from quite a distance up in the stands. Round ends with fighters in a clinch
Round 12: Slow round. Campas warned again by ref for leaning on Kid's neck
Round 13: Campas all over Kid. Kid seems hurt and may not be able to see out of left eye
Round 14: Campas warned for 3rd time for leaning on Kid's neck and ref deducts a point from Campas. Even without the deduction, Kid easily wins round
Round 15: Campas is content to clinch for the entire round, but manages a strong uppercut just before the final bell

Randy Shields also enters his 3rd consecutive EOY Tournament and has a 1-2 tournament record. Has never fought for the WW Title. Cotto and Shields have fought a record 8 times against each other with Cotto leading the series 6-1-1. Cotto has eliminated Shields from both the Season 1 and Season 2 EOY Tournaments and now they meet again.
