Link is a power pitcher, but has control issues. Ely is, apparently, a soft-tossing "crafty" righty.
Conventional wisdom has Ely as the better of the two, but given how generally poor the Sox pitching prospects tend to be - Lance Broadway (the 15th overall pick in the 2005 draft) was non-tendered by the Mets, take from that what you will - I wouldn't expect either of them to be fantastic.
Then again, the Dodgers have a history of churning out quality pitching. How much that has to do with actual talent as opposed to how well Dodger Stadium treats pitchers, I dunno.
