White Sox win the American Cup, wrapping up the series with 19-3 victory against the defending champion Milwaukee Brewers in the 5th game of the series. The White Sox went 92-70 during the regular season winning the American Conference's Central Division by 7 games. The White Sox are a solid all around team led by 27 year old left fielder Alberto 'Dusty' Martinez. Martinez put up a triple slash of .326/.422/.585 and hit 35 homers and remains in the AC's Most Valuable Player conversation.
The White Sox victory continues the trend of alternating victories in the American Cup. They join former champions San Francisco Giants (2009), Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2010), Arizona Diamondbacks (2011), Boston Red Sox (2012), and Milwaukee Brewers (2013). The Brewers are the first team to make a second appearance in the American Cup, making it via the Wild Card for the second consecutive year. This was the second straight division championship for the White Sox and they have no pending free agents, so this very well could just be the start for the Sox.
