At the end of a strange affair Miguel Canto found himself in the final of the tournament.

Accavallo started well, enjoying success with hooks to the body, before the Mexican found the rhythm with his jab. Canto had built up a solid lead on the scorecards as the bell rang at the end of the eighth round.

The fight turned on its head in the ninth stanza, Accavallo landed a murderous right hook to the chin of Canto sending to the ropes. The Argentinian followed up with hooks and crosses a plenty, Canto was glad to hear the bell.

There was a couple of rounds in it at the start of the tenth round but nine minutes later and the bout was as good as over. Accavallo, for some reason, went into a defensive mode and hardly threw a punch leaving it for Canto to ‘sneak’ the next few rounds.

Accavallo was more aggressive in the later rounds but the bird had flown and Canto’s jab and right cross took him through to the final.
