Spring Training Begins:

Reporters are joining Major League Baseball teams as they prepare to open their spring training camps. Rosters will take form over the course of the coming weeks as coaches assess the talent at their disposal.

Notes:

Star CF Adam Weaver will miss 8 months, the entire season, due to a broken knee cap. Drafted in the 5th round Weaver was a star player at Cal who was expected to be a staple in the outfield for Boston, but will have to watch the team from the couch.

Washington Capitals MR Dustin Gorman, a UCLA grad, will miss 4-5 months with a shoulder injury. Expected to be a major cog in the Capitals bullpen the Washington, DC based team will have to a=make due.

San Francisco Warriors C Paul Franklin, on of the better catchers in baseball, fractured his ankle running the bases and will miss 2-3 months of action.

Next up: Regular season kicks off!
PS: Don't think I mentioned it earlier, but there is no DH in either league.
