I will be looking for 3 new GMs in our Hanshin, Seibu, or Yakult teams in Japan.
Not to vent, but I've done this long enough that there's always a particular trend with people. So, some pieces of advice for anyone applying to ANY league...but for this matter, mine in particular (since I'm trying to earn your "business"):
- Be serious about this. The reason this league has existed for so long is the dedication and commitment of all its longtime members. Don't apply if you're really window shopping. We're an older group (30+) in general. We're not a kids league or a Geocities special that will be gone in 6 days.
- Understand what you're applying for. We don't know you...you've not proven why you should be in eMLB, so don't apply thinking you can skip the Nippon Leagues....All roads leading to eMLB's Major Leagues roll through Japan!
- Don't play the "new job" angle with me. If you suspect you're too busy right now, then save us both the time...and my fellow GMs the aggravation of seeing teams not be filled. Any Commissioner will tell you that they invest a lot of time and energy training/setting a new GM up...one recent person ran me through the entire process....numerous e-mails and setup, only to bail a month later with one FTP to show for the huge investment in them.
- Don't apply if you're in 18 other leagues, and can barely keep track of them. We want the person who has enough time to play our game, but play it seriously looking to be part of something very special in online games. Like any longtime league...winning it all means something a little more...extra bragging rights against some longtimers is always fun in itself!
Our league is looking for the dedicated person who thinks they can muscle their way out of Japan...is it you?
