American Lightweight Title

Everhardt takes the belt!
Jack Everhardt (left) outbrawled George Taylor to lift the American Lightweight Belt. The fight was there for the taking in the seventh round when Everhardt became only the second man to deck Taylor.
Taylor's last bout at the Garden was a farce, but this time the hometown boy turned up to fight. He enjoyed some early success until walking into a right cross from Everhardt. The Challenger remained on top for the rest of the contest and secured a unanimous decision.
Everhardt will return to the Garden to make his first defence against Frank Erne, the bout will also hold World Title final eliminator status.
