Rogers Proclaimed Best Skipper In RU, Edges Bobkins and Groveland
When your team wins 107 games, you must have done something right. For doing things right Colfax manager Clem Rogers has been selected the BNN Ruthlandian Manager of the Year. He piloted the Blasters to their third consecutive RU West crown and set a new IPA record for victories. Colfax wound up with a truly outstanding 107-47 record, breaking San Alejo's old Tycobbian mark of 102-52 in 2002. This is the second straight year Rogers has been honored as the top manager. In 2009 Colfax improved from a 66-88 mark to 94-61 and climbed from a lowly 7th to the top spot. Rogers joins Arlon's Gary Louis as the only two-time winners. Louis garnered the Tycobbian best manager award in 2006 and 2008.
Gibby Bobkins of the Sugar Valley Rattlers ran second to Rogers. Bobkins guided the Rattlers to the RU East title this season as they rose up from 7th place in 2009. Sugar Valley improved its record from 71-83 to 88-66 this year.
Winding up third in the survey was Far Mountain's Alex Groveland. The Redhawk skipper notched his second successive pennant in th RU North with a 93-61 record.
