Actors get paid a salary by a studio that makes its money from direct product sales; theater tix. DVD's, cable, etc.
Investment bankers get a salary and bonus dependent on performance directly from their company.
Athletes, and clubs, make much of their income from media revenue. Now, a company like ESPN makes money from charging everyone who watches cable or satelite about $5 a month, whether they watch the channel or not. Then ESPN sells commercial time. Companies buy this time and pass the costs on to its customers..again whether they are sports fans or not. Players and teams receive involuntary public subsidy.

Studios pay actors from money received from other movies also. I don't know anyone who likes Nicholas Cage movies, but he still gets paid.
Baseball is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. Who should keep the money? The owners? I have no problem with the salaries these guys make. They generate the revenue, they get the money.
