Game Two: Dutch Leonard (19-9, 2.87) was more or less matched by
Mike LaCoss (14-6, 3.96), who was hurt by a
Pete Rose error that allowed a pair of third inning runs but buckled down until the 8th, when Arizona got a pair on big two-out hits from
Albert Pujols and
Willie Wells, enabling the Sandmen to even the series with a 4-3 victory.
Jose Valverde, who saved 31 during the regular season, closed it out for Arizona.
Series tied 1-1.
