What I suspect as my last act of the virtual night, I tackled extensions.

First, Robert Fick is apparently filing for free agency. He is not willing to negotiate so as of now the Giants are looking like they will be without a catcher.

Also unwilling to negotiate: Mike Gonzalez, Mark DeRosa, Rocco Baldelli, and Rondell White.

Joe Mauer, Ron Belliard, Andruw Jones, and Chone Figgins were willing to entertain an offer. Mauer is too expensive so I settled on Jones.

Jones wanted 3 years at $1.65M a year. The owner has me very financially handcuffed and the best I could do is a 1 year deal with a $500K bonus if he gets 500 AB's. If he does get 500 AB's, at $1.5M this should be a fine contract. More likely, he'll think I'm low balling him and leave but it's all I can do.
