last night i was playing my Red Sox in the 1900s.... was on my 12th season, with an amazing record of 115 win in a season, in average difficulty...
managed to get a few VERY good player from the start, and never had to look back for the next 12 years... usually traded my player before they reach their FA status (unless they were VERY good, like that 5 time in 6 years in major Cy Young Winner).
had a strong farm, always trading very good player for very good prospect, and 4 starter all winning 25+ games a years...
after 12 years, i did a mistake.. wanted to sign for less years, but couldnt do it... so ended up with Texas.... ugh
