The 
                    drama was high for the last day of the season, as three teams 
                    had a shot to win the AL Pennant. The biggest game, Philadelphia 
                    @ Chicago, controlled the destiny for all three teams.
                  
Philadelphia 
                    was able to knock off Chicago on the road 5-2, to keep their 
                    hopes alive. Reigning AL Batter of the Year Socks Seybold 
                    hit a 3 run homerun in the top of the 7th inning that proved 
                    to be the difference maker. If the Orioles won, they would 
                    take home the pennant. However if they lost, a hectic 3 team 
                    playoff would then ensue.
                  
Unfortunately, 
                    there would be no hectic 3 game playoff as the Baltimore Orioles 
                    took care of the Senators 5-3 to capture the American League 
                    Pennant with a record of 78-62. Not bad for a team who finished 
                    6th in the AL with a 67-73 record last season.
                  
The 
                    Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles will get set to play 
                    the World Series.
