While unlikely, it isn't unheard of for a fighter to survive multiple knockdowns. For instance, on April 17, 1909 Sam McVea put Joe Jeannette on the canvas 27 times, but lost while visiting the deck 11 times himself over the course of 49 rounds!

On March 20, 1931 Jose Santa knocked down Salvatore Ruggeriello 13 times over 6 rounds, but Ruggeriello was there at the last bell.

On Sept.7, 1925 Victorio Campolo dropped Miguel Ferrara 36 times in 5 rounds before the latter was no longer able to get to his feet.
