Our Detroit team finished 3rd, five behind the leader.

Detroit stand-outs:

Bret Boone, 2B, .346 BA, 24 HR's
Hank Greenburg 1B, .306, 35 HR's
Sam Thompson LF, .350, 21 HR's
Joe DiMaggio CF, .329, 23 HR's

The Pitching Staff STUNK!
Nolan Ryan, had the best ERA on the team with a 3.95, so that's why we didn't make the playoffs. We had plenty of offense! Maybe next year!

Major League Leader for BA is Kiki Cuyler, with a fantastic .380 average.

Notables:
Roger Hornsby batted .368
Sosa batted .276 and hit 59 Homers(led majors)
Ruth batted .287, 39 HR's

Boston won the World Series in 7 games against the Reds...

Onto the next season
