Game 1: Boston 5, Baltimore 0
Game 2: Baltimore 5, Boston 4 (10 I)
Game 3: Baltimore 4, Boston 2
Game 4: Boston 6, Baltimore 4
Analysis: The Red Sox waste a great pitching performance by Curt Schilling in game two (7Ks), and Baltimore rallies late to tie. The O's hit the game-winning HR to start the 10th off Keith Foulke -- not impressive there for the newly acquired closer (Francona gets thrown out of this game for arguing with the umps after a second BoSox runner gets thrown out at 2nd... His language is not pretty...)
Byung-Hyun Kim's first start also is a bit of a waste in game three. He has one bad inning and Baltimore turns a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead (and eventual win)...
Finally, the Boston bats come alive a bit in the final game of the set. Jason Varitek and Gabe Kapler play longball and Pokey Reese goes 4-for-4 with two RBIs from the number nine spot.
Next up: The home opener!! The Toronto Blue Jays come to town for three... then three more with Baltimore... then -- the first series with the Yankees!!!!
Other news: Mike Timlin, Boston relief pitcher, announces he will retire after this season... Colorado's Larry Walker collects his 2000th hit... The Yankees fall to 2-3 with a loss at Chicago... aww... A-Rod finally gets a homer... Giambi is batting around .100.. aww... Mike Mussina is the only NYA starter with a win... aww...
