Is it your assumption that home field advantage is a result of having a team that is constructed to perform at a higher level at home?
If so, I disagree. I think home field advantage is a function of players performing at a higher level at home and a slightly lower level on the road, but not because of the way the team was built. I think building a team to fit a ballpark is a myth ('cept maybe at Coors) and that good teams will be good no matter where they play their home games.
Has anyone ever studied this?
