JOHN L. SULLIVAN SUFFERS FIRST LOSS

In a battle of two undefeated fighters. Philadelphia Jack O' Brien stepped up in weight class to defeat John L. Sullivan.

Speed against power and speed came out on top this night. O' Brien raced to a UD10. Effective defense and counterpunching controlled the fight for Philadelphia.

Everytime Sullivan landed he hurt O' Brien but he only landed 27% of his punches. Sullivan put Jack down in the 4th round but wasn't able to catch him again the rest of the fight.

I had 97-93. The official judges scored it 96-94/97-94/97-92.

After the fight O' Brien said he needed to win the LBA Lightheavyweight championship before stepping up to the Heavyweight division but it was nice to know he could compete.

O' Brien raises his record to 6-0 and Sullivan drops to 10-1
