Tommy Ryan (15-0) won a UD15 over #5 Jimmy Gardner (6-5-2) on 7-20-1903, for his second defense of the LBA Welterweight title. It was the second time in his career he has fought Gardner. The first time he won a SD10 in Dec, 1901. It was the closest Ryan has come to losing.

The time Ryan controlled the fight from the outset. He dropped Gardner with a viscous combination in the 3rd. Opened a cut over Gardner's left eye in the 4th, then was basically on cruise control the rest of the way. Gardner did manage to bloody Ryan's nose and cut Ryan over the left eye, but was never able to gain any momentum.

I had it scored 148-138. Jaret Morgan at ringside had it 147-138. The official judges had it 148-137/147-139/146-139.
