HERRERA PITCHES SHUT OUT IN HIS FIRST BOUT
March 31st, 1904
FW - Aurelio Herrera (1-0) dominated veteran BW Chappie Moran (7-11-1) to win a UD10 in his first bout.
Herrera took control in the first when he dropped Moran half way through. He came storming out in the second going for the KO and dropped Moran again late in the round. Herrera then settled in and won every round.
I had it 100-90. Walt Arnold ringside had it 100-92. The official judges had it 100-90/100-90/100-91.
This was notable because it was my first played out fight that was a complete shut-out. There you go Javier, I bring in my first Mexican and he sets a record!!!
notable on the undercard
LW Dick Burge (7-8-1)scored a TKO2 over WW Otto Sieloff (1-5) and decided to officially move up to WW. This is the first LBA fighter to move into a new weight. There were 14 "8" or higher rated fighters in LW, but only 6 in WW. He should be more successful there.
PIC of Herrera included
