After nearly a month of play, the big story in the CBA is the Western Division leading Houston Buffaloes. Their 15-5 record puts them two games clear of 2nd-place Dallas and 3 1/2 up on Nashville in third. An eight-game winning streak in late April included sweeps of San Antonio, Memphis, and Atlanta. The Buffaloes are led by a one-two punch on the mound, Pitcher of the Month Lawrence Miles (4-0, 1.96) and left-hander Steven Mackay (4-0, 2.09). The Houston offense is anchored by 1B Matt Wille and 3B Bob Wall, each with 6 homers, and RF Matthew Tallman's .349 average.
In the East, the Jacksonville Ospreys' 15-9 mark leads Norfolk (12-9) and Atlanta (12-10). Big bats are key to the Ospreys' success, with LF Tim Ryan's 6 taters and 17 RBIs leading the way. RF Mark Clark adds 19 RBIs, leading the East.
