OPENING ROUND RESULTS

Oklahoma City (Apsu) def. Memphis (Christ) 3-2
Phoenix (COnfucius) def. Houston (Thetan) 3-0
New Orleans (Nahak) def. Seattle (Guatama) 3-0
Raleigh (Ra) def. Pittsburgh (Ometeotl) 3-0

A couple surprises from the first round of the playoffs - the biggest shocker is Phoenix not only beating Houston, but sweeping them. Many gamblers lost their shirts on that series as the wilcard Phoenix team topples the CL's best record.

In the Oklahoma City / Memphis series, Apsu had a tremendous series which ultimately carried his squad to the next round. The series was tied at 2-2 heading back to Memphis for Game 5, but Oklahoma City feasted upon the Memphis bullpen to win the game 12-3. Apsu dominated the final game in the series, going 5 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.

The Phoenix / Houston series started off with a shocker as Phoenix demolishes Houston in Houston, 13-1. Houston ace Eric Griffith finished the season 17-7 with a 3.39 ERA, but gives up 8 runs in 4 innings as Phoenix rolls to an easy win in Game 1. Games 2 and 3 were much closer (5-2 and 4-3), but Phoenix stunned a heavily-favored Houston team with a slumping A Thetan and advances to the CLCS to face Oklahoma City.

No surprises in the Seattle / New Orleans series as Siddhartha Guatama has a great post-season, but Seattle was no match for the reigning DCL Champions. Seattle managed to stay in all of the games and keep them close, but New Orleans was just too strong to be beaten. New Orleans further soldifies itself as the clear favorite to win the World Series.

No one expected Raleigh to topple Pittsburgh in 3 games, but Raleigh showed a ton of heart, winning all 3 games by one run (4-3, 3-2 and 5-4). Neither Ra nor Ometeotl had a very good series, but Raleigh advances to face a very tough New Orleans team in the ULCS.

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES MATCHUPS

Oklahoma City (Apsu) @ Phoenix (Confucius) - Oklahoma City is the exact opposite of a Houston team which Phoenix dispatched in the first round. Houston had a tremendous pitching staff with an average offense, Oklahoma City features a dominating offense and very poor pitching. Gamblers are wary given Phoenix's shocking win over Houston, but Oklahoma City is emerging as the favorite, expected to win in 5 or 6 games.

Raleigh (Ra) @ New Orleans (Nahak) - Raleigh nosed out a sweep against Pittsburgh but now has to face a New Orleans team which is very good in every single aspect of the game. New Orleans is expected to take this series rather easily, with Raleigh maybe stealing a game.
