SIDDHARTHA IN SEATTLE

Seattle (AP) - Seattle officials today announced that they had resigned free agent deity Siddhartha Guatama to a 4-year, $107 million dollar contract. Both sides tried to work out an agreement during the season, but talks broke down and both agreed to revisit the issue after the season.

Seattle originally obtained Guatama in a block-buster trade prior to the 3008 season, sending deity Khonvoum to Chicago in exchange for the Buddhist RF. Guatama responded with a nice year, hitting .456 with 75 HRs and 188 RBIs and has led his team to the playoffs the past two years. Seattle may be gunning for the UL Wildcard spot for the next few years however as they share a spot in the UL West with Cleveland, who signed free agent deity Ra to team up with their resident deity Enlil.

Guatama was unavailable for the press conference announcing his signing as he was on vacation, sitting on a mountain peak above the clouds in Tibet.

"We're very happy to get Siddhartha back," stated Seattle coach Ken Phelps XII, "He's been a great influence on our team and a source of light both on and off the field. We would have liked to have worked out a contract during the season since it would have been cheaper, but we just couldn't seem to get everything ironed out. All's well that ends well, though!"

Siddhartha Guatama won the Triple Crown in 3005 and has hit 3 cycles, been named Player of the Week 10 times, Batter of the Month 6 times and won a Golden Glove in 3008.
