Light-heavyweight Champion from 1968 to 1974. Ranks amoung the best ever in the light-heavy division. Career spanned from 1961 to 1977; Foster actually retired in 1974 but came out of retirement to fight three more years against less than familier names, winning the fights but not moving up in the rankings. Before retiring the first time, he was one of the best light-heavyweights ever and the best slugger by a mile! Unbeaten as a light-heavyweight, losing only to heavyweights. Defended the title successfully 14 times, a record, and holds the record for best KO percentage amoung light-heavies. Bob Foster versus Archie Moore, with both in their prime, would be quite a match!
