The ring wasn't kind to Ralph during his brief career. He was knocked out by Sam Langford in the fourth round of their 1911 bout. One month after the loss to Langford, Calloway selected another tough opponent in Battling Levinsky; the two fought a 10 round no decision. Ralph should have known that the boxing Gods weren't going to smile on his career after a bout he had with Battling Johnson. Calloway put Johnson down SEVEN times in the fourth round but Johnson clawed his way back and took poor Ralph out in the seventh!. Following his first and only career win (over Dummy Burns), Calloway decided to call it a career.
