We went out with a whimper. Grafton's Sean Wilder held our offense in check (6.2 IP, 0 ER) while their offense put up 5 runs. They had their power stroke going tonight, as 6 of their 9 hits went for extra bases. Our only scoring came from a solo HR in the 9th for the second game in a row. This time it was LF Boyd Adkins providing the power.

Grafton's starter, Arnold West was too much for us today. He held us scoreless through 7 on just 2 hits. Jeff Watkins pinch hit for West in the bottom of the 7th with one on and one out and launched one out of the park to put Grafton up 3-0. We got a solo HR from 3B Derek MacIntosh in the 9th but it was too little, too late.

All the runs scored in this one were unearned. Grafton got one in the 3rd on a 2-base error, sac bunt and sac fly. We tied it up in the 7th on a two-out error and 1B Steven Lewis drove in the go ahead run with a bases loaded walk. SP Tim White was excellent for us (6 IP, 0 ER) and the bullpen was able to nail it down this time.

We almost coughed up another one late, but hung on this time. We took an early lead in the 2nd, thanks to a couple walks and some timely hitting, then added to it in the 7th (thanks to another couple walks). Our starter, Bill Landry, was cruising until the 8th when he got into trouble. The bullpen was able to bail him out and preserve the lead.
