We got handed our first shutout and snapped our winning streak. For the Firedogs, SP Stewart Hickey was almost unhittable (8 IP, 10 K). They got on the board with a solo HR from LF David Robinson in the 4th and added to their lead in to their lead in the 5th with a 3-run bomb from 1B Leonard Pennington. We'll try to get something going in the rubber game tomorrow.

Four wins in a row; we're on a roll. Coming into tonight's game both Freeburg and Bunker Hill have had trouble scoring runs. Freeburg was last in the league with 25 and Bunker Hill was close with 28. So who would have guessed we'd see a pitcher's duel? Right, practically everyone. SP Skip Farr pitched well and got the win for us. On offense we lead off the 2nd with a triple which helped and managed to string enough...

Our third straight one-run win. This was a wild one that went back and forth. RF Steven Lewis gave us our first lead with a two-run HR in the 3rd and brought us closer in the 5th with an RBI single. 2B Cliff Beard came through in the 6th with a 3-run HR to give us our second lead, but we'd cough it up as well. We finally won in the 9th with a walk-off wild pitch! Very thrilling!

Another close win tonight and we're at .500 (3-3) for the first time since we started the season. The lesson today for the Barnstormers is "don't walk people!" We drew 5 walks and one HBP -- 4 of those runners went on to score. LF Darrell Evans had the best day for us, hitting a 3-run HR in the 1st. Our bullpen was great again, pitching 4 scoreless innings. We still need to get more hits than this, but...

Reds were in the hunt for the most part of 1875. Until Al Pratt went out for the season with bone chips in the elbow. I doubt the Reds will be able to make the playoffs. They are 3 back and 4 to go.
