historic rookies
do historical simmers traditionally put the imported rookies with their original team?
I am at the end of my first season and was wondering which way to go ... draft or placing them on their original team? Good/Bad? any thoughts? |

It depends on what you are trying to do.
There was no draft in the beginnings of baseball history for a long time, so having a draft isn't necessarily historical and it can sometimes seem weird to see Babe Ruth as a Cub or Ted Williams a Brown/Oriole... If you want to mix things up a bit then go for the draft it will help the bad teams get better, as they won't be saddled with all the bad players they had through the years. |

I was thinking of just drafting and letting the players fall wherever. I know it would seem a little wierd to have premiere players on different teams but I guess that's the fun of creating your own league.

I do the ammy draft so they end up anywhere. In my solo league, I started in 1903 with a full player dump/Initial draft. I love to see the "What if" aspect of leagues, so I love to see who would end up where under different circumstances, different teamates, different ballparks, etc.

I'm letting the computer draft for all teams but my team(s).
This is my shameless attempt to get some kind of an edge on the game.
