Post Manners.

I would just like to express some thoughts on a few things concerning posts. I believe that this board has a section for just about eveyone. If you love the game, you can come here and say what you want, if you have some things you wish were in the game or things you think don't work right or you feel should work better but you still like the game and are mildly disappointed or frustrated then post it in the Wishlist section. If you feel you have been ripped off than like any other product go to the technical support section and post you would like your money back and tell them why in as much detail as possible as it will still help the games growth. I do believe in the free speech and believe everyone should have there opinion. There was a post I read where it had a very negative tone in the title and some very negative tones about the game and the development of the game and in some cases the developer it self. I do not think that was the right places, or IMO the right tone to use in a public place where for the most part a large group of people go to talk and discuss and sometimes just read what other people are having happen in their game and to just have a good time. The really sad part of this was the post I read brought up some really good points that would be an the benefit of the game and the growth of the game but it was done all wrong in a place that is best suited for the fans, again there is a place where everyone can say what they want to say but any one should realize that if you go to where the "fans" of a particular product go to talk about the product than the majority are going to take it as "bashing" the game, valid points or not. I read the post and took out of it what I wanted and added some things to a wish list in the proper section. I know it doesn't really matter but I get tired of people bashing different games in, IMO, A improper venue. Just have some manners.

I second the notion. Whatever your opinion/problem/POV if you express it politely you will be heard, and you may even get useful feedback that will turn into a mature discussion. I think everyone here welcomes reasonable posts even if they are expressing a dissenting opinion.

What happened to that thread? Seemed like there was some worthwhile discussion in there. I hope someone didn't intentionally delete it just because some of the posts were negative.

I've probably just misplaced it. I hope.

For those of you that don't feel like searching, here is the last post from that thread, which I hope will be acted upon by jass or anyone who has issues with the game's coding:

"Matter of fact, all this noise just convinces me further that things are screwed up. The company has had a "sit down and shut up" policy for years to anyone who complains about these issues, point number two in the "not caring" argument. Go ahead, embarrass me, put all these things in a patch."

OK, send me an email, list all the things you would like to get changed/fixed/added (I am working on the 4.1 update right now), and I'll try to embarrass you.
See, I want OOTP to be a good game. Not good at only certain parts, but good at all parts. I might not be the greatest programmer on earth, but I know some things as well. The thing that bothers me is that my english is rather basic, so I cannot use all those rhetorical phrases you throw around in order to make your arguments look good. I do not say that you do not have valid points, though. All I know is that I know my engine, and I know it doesn't work the way you suggested. The other things, like league averages, make sense to me, and seriously, I do not know why they are not a part of OOTP yet. Maybe I am just human and forgot to put some vital (for some people) parts into the game... so help me, send me an email, and let's see if the 4.1 update satisfies you

To me, that seems like a very reasonable post. Perhaps we can get back to debating game issues in a mature manner, where phrases like 'get your panties out of your butt' aren't necessary.

I liked the last post by Markus. Seems like a reasonable response.
