Question Real Players?

Not sure if this is a taboo topic since it would involve add-on's from someone other than the OOTP team. If it shouldn't be in this forum, feel free to delete it, O Wise Moderator.

My question is in regards to the "real" MLB rosters that people created for OOTP3. I never bought the game as I was waiting for 4, but did some reading on it a few months ago. Generally, how long after the release before real rosters begin making it public? And is it likely the entire MLB players' reals stats will be ported to OOTP4 by someone? Just want to know whether to dive in fully to a league or just play around for a while (I'm still buying on the 1st regardless ) and wait until the real stats are available. Thanks for the info!

The folks that have been providing real MLB player files have done so pretty quickly in the past. However, I believe that you can use OOTP3 roster files with OOTP4.
One of the best roster files out there is Rolen's. Keep in mind that all of the roster creators, who all do excellent jobs, will most likely be updating their rosters as we get closer to opening day.

I plan on using Rolens OOTP3 set to start things cooking.

I would expect the first OOTP4 roster set release very shortly after the release.

Aren't the players stats that accompany the game fairly accurate compared to their real life counterparts? I would expect the left fielder for the San Francisco team will have the ability to put up some impressive home run totals this year. Now injuries and some of those hidden intangibles that are in the game may make such a homerun total difficult to match but whether his name is "Borry Bands", "Tarry Tonds", or "Ned Flanders" he should have a good shot at it!...Okileedokilee..
