Ratings question I've been wondering about
Say I have a SP with a 9 rating in Avoiding Hits and a 2 rating in Avoiding 2B.
1. Does the Avoiding Hits rating reflect the number of hits (1B, 2B, 3B, HR) he'll give up, thus the 2 rating in Avoiding 2B meaning that more of those hits will be doubles than if his rating was a 6 in Avoiding 2B? 2. Or does the Avoinding Hits rating reflect how many 1B he'll give up and the Avoiding 2B reflect how many 2b he'll give up? I'm assuming option 1 is the case, but I'm not 100% sure. |

That's actually a good question that i hadn't considered. I always assumed that hits was for overall ability to avoid giving up any hits and the 2b, 3b, hr categories determined the % of type of hits given up.(your #1) But that could be wrong...
As an aside, I think this aspect of the pitching ratings system is unrealistic, and I'm really looking forward to playing with them off with ootp4, relying more on stats. can't hardly wait! |

I agree with c-man, I sometimes look at the ratings too much when determining who to keep/trade, with them off I won't have to worry about asking myself, "how come this guy is batting a mere 0.240 when he has a 9 hitting rating?"
