Post Pitching Changes in Playoffs

I am going to post below, the box score from Game 4 of my most recent NLCS. There was an early rain delay which forced both teams to pen early. As the game progressed, I noticed that John Rocker stayed in the game along time. What happened was that he was the last relief pitcher available. However, there were 2 starters that were rested. The computer had brought Cruz the #1 pitcher back after starting game 1, so those other 2 starters were not going to be pitching in the season. Perhaps, a slight tweak is needed in the engine, especially the playoffs when you are down 2-1. Rocker also pitched in Game 3.

Thanks Steve. I had been reading for a while and hadn't seen it.

You may want to try adjusting your pitching staff for the playoffs. I went with a 3 man rotation for the playoffs and put my other 2 starters in the bullpen. Not sure if this will help, but it was worked out for the Sox in my '88 league.

Thanks BoSox. I go with a 4 man rotation depending on how the series is going. The situation I described above was a computer run team, who kept a 5 man staff but only used 3 starters and didn't put his other 2 starters in bullpen roles.
