Question A question re: sportplanet.com /sbb/ files/ OOTP2HistoricalInfo.htm

I had to break up the adress to get the subject in . . .

First of all, no disrespet to Scott Vib for letting me know about this site.

However, are these park specs really accurate and compatible w/ OOTP4? For instance, Colt Stadiums dimensions don't seem too crazy, but the home run factor is 56!?! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> There are several other parks with home run ratings in the 60s. Would these really be accurate for a sim starting in 1961? Do most historical simmers just use Old League Park for OOTP4?

Personally, I only use custom ballparks for fictional leagues. My thinking is that if you are playing a historical league and you want players assigned to the teams they really played for then their ratings already take into account the park they played in. Since the ratings are based on the players real life stats - which were impacted to varying degrees based upon the park he played half of his games in - if you add in park effects you are doubling the effect.

In my HOB2 replay I use 2 stadiums. One for all American League teams and one for all National teams. I can then use the park effect numbers in conjuction with my era settings to duplicate the difference in National League and American League play.

To explain it better you can look here-

I have been posting my settings with the 2 park format in this thread.

If you have OOTP3 you can download Frohike's OOTP3 stadiums and convert any year you want (he has park.dat files for each season) to OOTP4 format.

Or you can download the Boys of Summer League file and use the park.dat files from that league and you'll get the stadium values, from one year (not sure which year).

You'd have to edit the weather.
