Smile Sammy "Speed Demon" Sosa

Further proof that the word "impossible" should not exist. In sports or anywhere else.

I'm using Rolen's rosters for a career league, playing as the Cubs. It's 2005, and we're going for our second straight World Series title. We're up 3 games to 1 on the BoSox.

Now get this :
Bottom of the 9th, 1 out, no one on, game is tied at 3. Sammy Sosa steps up to the plate. The pbp went something like this (not exact of course):
Line drive over the first baseman,
It roll all the way to the wall'
Sosa is rounding second,
The ball takes a funny hop in the corner,
Sammy rounds third,
It's an in the park homer!!!!
Cubs win the World Series!!!!

That's just the coolest thing i've seen in this game yet! And i'm not at all being sarcastic. I love this game. My thanks to the developers!

Anyone else have any cool stories like this?

Wow! I've played several hundred games and never seen that.

Dude, that is so awesome that I used the word "dude." Yeah, as you can probably divine from my screen name, I play the Cubs. It took me till '06 to win the series, so my hat's off to you. I think the coolest thing to happen was getting my very first email in the game - Fred McGriff was going to retire after the season. After that, all the problems in the game (not many, believe me) seemed so very insignificant. I also like how the Cubs had a fan rating of 101/100...

Sammy's Speed has nothing on Larry Walker!

While simming through a season with Rolen's rosters yesterday, Walker stole 55 bases and finished 2nd behind Ichiro in the league in Steals (2002).

Also I noticed that Colorado must like to run as they had Walker, Uribe, and Pierre in the top 15 in steals.
