Post The Kid

I just drafted an 18 year old closer in the first round of the ammy draft, and he went straight to AAA. I checked his ratings before the AS Break and he had 5-5-4-7-1-7, which is better than most of my bullpen(my weakness obviously), so now I have an 18 year old on my major league squad.

My question is how old was the youngest person that has ever made your squad, or any other's team squad that you've seen? I'm not talking about those guys that get 2 ABs here and 4 there when they're 20, but I mean a guy that STAYS on the major league squad.

Edit- Figures, right after I post this, in his 2nd game he goes down with a 6 week injury.
Chris

In an old fictional league I was running in OOTP3 I had a catcher who was 19 that started mostly due to the lack of talent on my team behind the plate. He probably could have started on half of the teams in the league, so he wasn't called up all that early. He went on to play until he was 42 and he retired with most hits, runs, walks, RBIs, doubles and was third in homers. He also won an unprecedented 7 MVP awards along with rookie of the year honours. Needless to say...the MVP award was rename the Gene Christopher Award!!!

I had a 17 year old starter in Rolen's rosters...His name was something like Ching-Chung Lo nicknamed the Dragon...

He went 14-9 with something like a 4.62 ERA...not to shabby for someone who can't do anything legally...

In a fictional league I created I had an 18 year old third baseman named John Bethune on my squad....he did pretty well.

I drafted a stud 18 year old SP in the draft, and plugged him in as my #3 starter on day one. Had a 4.XX ERA (can't remeber exactly), and won more games then he lost. Played for 5 seasons before going down for his career with a rotator cuff injury .
