Cleveland changed their name from the Infants to the Trolleys during the offseason, but the results were the same as the Trolleys won their second straight World Series.

The Trolleys finished a remarkable 123-79 during the regular season to finish 15 games up on the second place Browns. While the Trolleys were aided by the addition of four expansion teams, the Trolleys proved no match for their division.

The Cleveland Infants captured the Western League title by two games over the Chicago Pirates with a 94-56 record, heading into a World Series match-up against the New York Giants, who finished the season at 82-68.

1892 Buffalo Bisons - A Deeper Look

1892 was the first year following the demise of the National League, and the first year with two separate leagues. In the newly formed Eastern League the Buffalo Bisons, one of the original Players League teams finished with a 86-64 record, and beat out the Philadelphia Athletics by 3 games.
