ANNOUNCEMENT: .400 Software Studios
April 2, 2002
We are proud to announce the creation of .400 Software Studios, the premiere developer of sports simulations for the PC. Our mission is to provide unparalleled realism, engaging gameplay and outstanding customer service across a variety of sports titles, from major, professional sports simulations to collegiate games and minor sports. .400 Software Studios brings together some of the brightest minds in sports gaming and sports research. We encourage everyone to meet the team by visiting our web site at www.400softwarestudios.com and selecting "Our Team" from the menu at left. In conjunction with this announcement, we are also pleased to introduce three new games currently under development. The first title that will make up this new venture will be the ground-breaking Inside the Park Baseball. Fusing traditional role playing elements and sports simulation, Inside the Park Baseball will offer baseball fans the unique opportunity of actually taking the field as a player! Create your character and watch help him evolve over consecutive seasons. See if you can become the next superstar or wallow in the minors as the latest over-hyped bust. Inside the Park Baseball is currently under development, and is scheduled for an August 2002 release. The basketball crowd will be pleased to hear of Tournament Dreams College Basketball (TD), a college basketball simulation that will allow gamers to coach a division I college basketball team over successive seasons. Tournament Dreams will provide full career and season stats, full record tracking, awards and more for all 300+ division I schools. Also included will be an interactive play-by-play engine, media polls and rankings systems, preseason tournaments, multiplayer league support and much more. Coaches have the ability to change their defense, offense and overall playing style, hire and fire a full staff, schedule opponents and even impact their homecourt advantage. The highly sophisticated recruiting model will challenge you as you set out to land the best high school, junior college and foreign players available. Recruits will look at potential playing time, location, media exposure, recent tournament history, overall prestige, team interest and many other factors when deciding which school to attend. Tournament Dreams College Basketball is currently under development, and is scheduled for Fall 2002 release. Jim and Tom Trunzo, designers of the legendary Avalon Hill board game Title Bout Pro Boxing and APBA's Pro Boxing, will bring their acclaimed boxing simulation into the digital century with .400 Software Studios' Title Bout Championship Boxing. One of the most exhaustive simulation engines ever design for a game lets you choose from over two-thousand current boxers and historical greats, from Jack Dempsey and Muhammad Ali to today's headliners. Create your own virtual fighter and work your way up the ranks, schedule fantasy "dream" match-ups spanning different eras and generations, create custom fight cards including preliminary bouts leading up to the main event, wager on fights and track your winnings, create your own boxing organizations and much more. Title Bout Championship Boxing is currently under development, and is scheduled for a Fall 2002 release. More to come shortly! In the meantime, please visit us at www.400softwarestudios.com - The .400 Studios Team |

Good news, to see Arlie Rahn bring CAD to Markus. Tournament of Dreams should be an excellent title.
Will ITP be graphic? A "FPS" of baseball games? Or a text-version similar to OOTP? No comment on boxing. As your poll puts it, "Not my cup of tea."

Just out of curiosity, do you have to pay to use the names of real boxers in the boxing game (if you are indeed going to)...??

We can be quite a bit more liberal with using historical boxers, referees, corner men and judges (they are all in the game because there is no governing body that manages boxing merchandising. So yes, there will be "real" fighers in Title Bout.

I will not be denied the profits that you are receiving only because of my thought and foresight in the field of professional boxing. I ask that you cease and desist from the release of this game and you will be receiving a letter from my attorney. Only in America. I don't even need an office - I can work at home, and email jokes to the team every day. I'll do it, for, say $75,000? Deal?
