One of the most painful things about undertaking this project - aside from not being confident in my own writing ability - is the attempt to speak for people with whose voice I am not familiar. I've found that trying to borrow or imitate another person's voice takes a lot of time and some practice. I'm not normally one to play with a historical or real-life MLB universe. I greatly prefer a custom-built baseball world, in which I can correct all of the "flaws" I see in MLB as a business. However, I discovered that when I play out the future with the real MLB history as its foundation, sometimes the stories within become even grander.
