We never trailed in this one. C Christopher Payton got us started with a 2-run HR in the 4th and we sent 9 men to bat in the 6th. SP Stuart Douglas had a rough start (5 ER, 5.2 IP), but got the win nonetheless. Our offense has been looking better lately. We drew 9 walks to go with our 10 hits today.

Our winning streak was snapped at 4 games. SP William Lewis took the mound for Bethalto and held us in check. He lasted 8 innings and allowed just 2 runs. Bethalto's offense strung some hits together in the 4th and took advantage of a lead-off triple in the 5th. SS Cal Lewis provided some insurance with a 2-run HR in the 8th.

A nice, relatively easy win (nice to have once in a while). We've now won 4 in a row. SP Cliff Sanders went 8 innings for us and allowed only 1 run, despite not striking out a single batter. SS Mark Goodwin led our offense with 3 hits (2 doubles) and 2 RBIs. But we also got at least one hit from every spot in the lineup.

We were down to our last strike, but came back to win. Freeburg's SP Andy Waddell and Bunker Hill's SP Paul Meyer put on a show. Waddell got the best of it, but his bullpen couldn't nail it down. Trailing 1-0 in the 9th, with two on and two out, pinch hitter Boyd Adkins crushed a 2-2 pitch over the left field fence to give Bunker Hill the lead.
