Customizable league

One thing that would set BTS apart from Front Office Football and other text sims is the ability to customize the league alignment and expand/contract as you see fit. There is no reason text sims should be limited to a 2x4x4 league alignment, as it prevents historical play and becomes unrealistic when you can't expand your league.

If I remember correctly I am sure I read that it might be considered for future versions? but for the first version they have decided to not implement it.

While I feel the sentiment for having it, I myself don't think it will be a big loss to begin with especially as it will be the first in what will hopefully be a long and successful franchise. Ideally for the first release I would just love a stable game where I can control my favourite NFL team to the Superbowl, then again it isn't often I do historical play, although that is something that I do want to get into.

I'm sure that after the first release, and feedback is taken on board, the team will look at what the fans want and prioritise in order.

I'd have to go dig it up (I think it's in the FAQ thread), but I'm pretty sure Francis has said that you'll be able to modify the league structure in V1.

Yes you can change the structure of the league, though it won't be as vast as OOTP; you'll have to stick to sane limits, like around 36-40 (tbd) teams in total.

I know for the first version you've said there wont be any historical play as such, but will you be able to change the start year? If so you could probably approximate it doing it by hand, depending on what other options were available, of course.

Will the option be available to add custom leagues? If you chose would there be any way to make a developmental league for the NFL as I believe that could be fun.

Doesn't exist in real life (though it should), but it could add something and make it easier to cover for injuries.
