Schedules
I know schedules are a bear to code, but will there be the same schedule logic every season?
I'm not talking so much about the list of who teams play in a certain season. That should include 6 division games, 4 games against all the teams in a different division within the conference (rotates), 4 games against all the teams in a division outside the conference (rotates), and 2 games against the remaining 2 teams in the conference that finish in the same place in their divisions. I'm more concerned with variance within the season. Front Office Football, for example, has every team play a division game Week 1, a non-conference game Week 2, and a division game Week 17. Would we have a little more spice with the schedules? Short of that, would there be ways to mod the schedules? Also, it would be cool if we had a Monday Night Game every week between two good/popular teams every week, even if just for cosmetic purposes. |

Yes the schedules are randomised in the sense of week 1 won't always be a divisional rival (but they obviously still stick to the real format as you said - if you are having the standard NFL 32 team league).
No they are not modifiable. Yes there are MNF and TNF games in the correct dates. |

In terms of the creation of the real-life NFL schedule, the following excerpts may be of interest. They come from the Introduction of the book Pro Football Schedules by Ivan Urena. Quote:

Regarding byes, will you be able to modify how many bye weeks will be in a season? I'd prefer to have two byes in my hypothetical league.

Not at the moment, but it's on my list of things to do.

Don't like the fact that the last week of the NFL season is only divisional games. That's starting to get old. For the next 50 years I know the last week of the regular season(unless they decide too change).
